Ordinary AcroForms
FileCarpenter supports compatible interactive text fields, checkboxes, radio groups and choice fields. Values are written back into the existing form widgets rather than painted as fake page text.
Open a compatible interactive PDF, type into its real fields, check boxes or radio buttons, choose allowed options, and download the completed form.
Uses FileCarpenter PDF Editor: Your PDF is uploaded to FileCarpenter for temporary form processing because the real AcroForm fields are updated and preservation-validated on the PDF Editor service. Calculations and embedded PDF scripts are not run; verify totals yourself.

Many government PDFs are ordinary AcroForms and can be filled directly. FileCarpenter tests the form structure, field permissions and export before presenting a completed file.
Dynamic XFA is a different form technology. When safe authoring cannot be proven, FileCarpenter keeps the document view-only instead of pretending that browser-style overlays are a reliable edit.
Embedded PDF JavaScript and push-button actions are not executed by this form-filling workflow. If a form normally calculates totals or performs validation in Adobe Acrobat, enter and verify those values yourself before submission.
Download the filled PDF, reopen it in the viewer you intend to use, and confirm text, checkbox/radio state, page count, signatures and totals. Keep the original unfilled form separately.
Read the AcroForm vs XFA guide or flatten a completed form when you need a fixed visual copy.
