When to use Merge PDF

Best for

Use this when several PDFs belong in one submission, packet or archive and page order matters.

What the output changes

FileCarpenter appends the pages from each selected PDF in the order you choose. Page graphics, images and vector content are preserved. Bookmarks, AcroForm structure and some annotations are not currently merged as document-level structures.

Check before sharing

For interactive forms, signed PDFs or documents with important bookmarks, keep the originals and verify the merged result before relying on it.

How Merge PDF works in FileCarpenter

Combine two or more PDF files into a single document, free and without signing up. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

The focused PDF Tools workspace is designed for a single job at a time. It does not require an account and does not add a FileCarpenter watermark to the downloaded result.

Good to know

Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?

No fixed limit. Very large jobs are bounded by your device memory rather than by us, since the work happens on your own machine.

Does the page order follow the file order?

Yes. Drag the files into the order you want before merging; pages are appended in exactly that order.

Are bookmarks and form fields kept?

Page content, images and vector graphics are preserved. Bookmarks, form fields and annotations are not carried across yet.
