Original-quality video

Send video without losing quality — and keep compatibility visible.

FCShare can deliver the exact original bytes. Smart Send only recommends a derived copy when the receiving device may benefit.

    The short answer

Quality preservation and compatibility are separate choices

The highest-quality choice is the original file. FCShare preserves that option and does not transcode simply because a smaller version might be convenient.

If the original codec is a poor fit for the recipient, Smart Send explains the issue and estimates a compatible target. If the sender browser proves the local conversion path is available, the sender can explicitly choose that version and FCShare converts it while sending.

    How to do it

    Three steps, in the browser.

    1. 1

      Select the original master

The source file is never modified.

    2. 2

      Connect the recipient

      FCShare checks coarse playback capability.

    3. 3

      Choose intentionally

Send original quality or, when available, a derived copy.

    Best for

    • Editing masters
    • 4K footage
    • Family videos
    • Client handoff

    What stays intact

    • Original resolution and bitrate when original is chosen
    • No silent re-encode
    • No server conversion
    • Transfer path unchanged

    Know before sending

    • Recipient may not play every codec
    • Original can be very large
    • Local conversion depends on sender browser codec support
    • No resume yet

Why a recommendation can still appear

A file can be high quality and incompatible. FCShare does not treat “best quality” as “best for every device.”

    Technical details are optional

Codec/container jargon stays behind the Technical details disclosure in Smart Send.

    Questions people ask

Will choosing Original alter the video?

    No.

    Why does FCShare mention H.264?

It is a broadly compatible delivery target for many devices, not a claim that it is superior to the source.

    Can I ignore the recommendation?

    Yes.
