No stored upload

Send a video without putting a stored copy in the cloud.

The signalling service introduces the browsers. The video payload travels over WebRTC and is not stored as a FileCarpenter download link.

    The short answer

Live transfer instead of hosted delivery

FCShare is designed for two people who are online at the same time. It does not wait for the entire video to upload to FileCarpenter storage before the recipient can begin receiving.

A direct WebRTC route is preferred. Some networks require TURN, which relays encrypted packets but does not turn the transfer into a retained cloud file.

    How to do it

    Three steps, in the browser.

    1. 1

      Select the video

No upload starts just because the file picker closes.

    2. 2

      Share the live room

The recipient joins while the sender page remains open.

    3. 3

      Accept and transfer

The receiver selects a save path where the browser supports it.

    Best for

    • Privacy-conscious video handoff
    • Temporary delivery
    • Large videos
    • Cross-device transfer

    What stays intact

    • No FileCarpenter stored payload
    • WebRTC encryption in transit
    • Original option
    • Existing QR/link workflow

    Know before sending

    • Not an asynchronous download link
    • TURN can relay encrypted traffic
    • Both browsers stay open
    • No transfer resume yet

    Direct versus relayed

The route indicator shows Local, Direct or Relayed (TURN) when WebRTC statistics expose it.

    Smart Send stays local

File inspection and supported image transformation happen on the sender device, not on the signalling server.

    Questions people ask

Does “without uploading” mean packets never touch a relay?

No. TURN may carry encrypted traffic when direct P2P is blocked. The key distinction is that FCShare does not store a downloadable file copy.

    Can someone download later?

    No.

    Is there an account?

    No.
