Android → PC

Transfer files from Android to PC, no USB needed.

Make the PC the receiver, scan its code from Android, and choose photos, videos, downloads, or documents from the phone’s browser picker.

    The short answer

    A one-time Android-to-PC handoff

This workflow does not require USB debugging, a desktop client, or pairing an account. The PC shows the temporary room; Android joins it and becomes the sender. The available locations and file types come from Android’s system file picker.

For daily synchronization or unattended folder mirroring, a dedicated sync tool is a better fit. FCShare is strongest when you want to move a known set of files immediately and leave no hosted copy behind.

    How to do it

    Three steps, in the browser.

    1. 1

      Choose Receive on the PC

The PC displays a large QR code and room link.

    2. 2

      Scan from Android

Open the room in Chrome or another current browser and select the files.

    3. 3

      Accept and save

Confirm on the PC and keep the Android screen awake while the transfer runs.

    Best for

    • Camera photos
    • Downloads and documents
    • APK or archive handoff
    • PCs without a companion app

    What stays intact

    • Original file bytes
    • Multiple-file selection
    • No cloud folder
    • No cable setup

    Know before sending

    • Not automatic sync
    • Android picker access varies
    • Background suspension can break transfer
    • Both devices must stay connected

    Local network speed

If Android and the PC are on the same Wi-Fi, WebRTC may use a local route and avoid sending the payload across the wider internet. The route shown in FCShare confirms whether the negotiated path is local, direct, or relayed.

    Sending in the other direction

To send from PC to Android, choose Send on the PC and scan its code from Android, or create a Receive room on Android and open that link on the PC. The room opener and file sender do not have to be the same device.

    Questions people ask

Do I need the same Google account on both devices?

No. The temporary room is the only pairing step.

    Can I send several files?

Yes. Select multiple items when the Android file picker supports it. Folder hierarchy is not preserved.

Will it work over different networks?

Often, yes. A direct connection or configured TURN relay must be available, and large transfers may use internet data.
